participants applying for the Vanier CGS program needs to follow criteria;
• They should not hold any other SSHRC, NSERC, or CIHR training award ( Micheal smith foreign studies supplement excepted) • They should remain enrolled and demonstrate continues satisfactory progress in their doctoral program • They should not hold or should not have held a doctoral-level scholarship to undertake or complete a doctoral program.

Admission requirements: a candidate applying for the Vanier CGS program must have achieved a minimum of 80% or equivalent in full-time study in the last completed two years.
